Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades and Finance Minister Harris Georgiades attended the illustrious opening ceremony of the brand new, expanded Mall of Cyprus in Latsia, a popular suburb of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus.

Atterbury Group CEO Louis van der Watt participated in the opening ceremony and was joined by Nicos Shacolas (92), owner of Shacolas group, the previous owner of the mall. (Atterbury Europe developed the expanded mall.)

The new Mall of Cyprus has added an additional 6 000m² and more parking spaces across a total of four levels and 15 new shops. Six new brands were added to the food court.

Atterbury is known for its slogan It’s a matter of association. This means the company values quality partnerships as one of its key success factors.

Commenting on the partnership between Shacolas group and Atterbury, Van der Watt said: “Nicos is a true entrepreneur and one of the toughest negotiators I’ve ever seen. We are proud to be associated with him and the group he has built with his team over many years.”

A second phase of the mall’s rejuvenation will be completed by July. This will add additional shopping retail space for the citizens of Nicosia to enjoy.
