Martin Olivier
Martin is a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) who began his career at Atterbury in South Africa as Financial Manager after completing his articles, working closely with the asset management and development management teams.
Having been part of Atterbury Europe since its inception, Martin has played an integral role in the company’s acquisitions and fundraising transactions, gaining a holistic understanding of the entire business value chain. Previously serving as CFO, Martin takes on the role of CEO of Atterbury Europe, effective 1 November 2026, bringing extensive financial expertise and in-depth knowledge of the business to his leadership role.

Henk Deist
Henk is a CA (SA) who started his career in tax consulting at international auditing firm Deloitte for 4 years.
He was an investment banker at BoE Merchant Bank and Rand Merchant Bank for 15 years and was involved in the structuring of complex transactions and fund raising.
He took the opportunity in March 2014 to lead Atterbury’s expansion into Europe. He relocated to the Netherlands in August 2017 and took up the position as CEO of Atterbury Europe and lead the business through many changes over the last decade.
As from the 1st of November 2026, as part of succession planning, he stepped down as CEO to take on the role of Commercial Director overseeing the group’s strategic business development activities, ensuring continuity on many of the business’s most important priorities.
Roux Gerber

Roux Gerber
Roux is a civil engineer with more than 20 years of experience in project and development management for the Atterbury Group in Mauritius, Namibia and Ghana and for other companies prior to joining Atterbury.
He is an expert in leading a project from the conceptual phase to final completion. He relocated to Bucharest in the first quarter of 2019 to attend to Atterbury Europe’s development pipeline.
Ansu Kretzmann

Ansu Kretzmann
Ansu is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa with 17 years’ professional experience and is currently Senior Advisor: Strategic Transactions for Atterbury Europe B.V.
Prior to joining the Atterbury Group, Ansu was a director in the tax department of a leading law firm in South Africa, specializing in corporate tax, international tax and mergers and acquisitions.

Altus Swanepoel
Altus is a CA(SA) and currently serves as the Head of Asset Management at Atterbury Europe. Before joining Atterbury, he spent a decade at Deloitte, working in both Namibia and the Netherlands. Following his time at Deloitte, he became Head of Reporting for a publicly listed Dutch company, overseeing all external financial reporting. He later joined Atterbury Europe as Group Accountant, during which he also played a key role in asset management operations in Cyprus.

Bingle is a CA(SA) and is currently Head of Financial Reporting for Atterbury Europe B.V. Before Joining Atterbury, he completed his articles at Deloitte working both in South Africa and Canada. After his articles, Bingle joined a leading investment bank in South Africa, where he worked on high value credit assessments and financing transactions.
Marelize van der Merwe

Marelize van der Merwe
Marelize is a CA(SA) and currently serves as head office accountant. Before joining Atterbury, she spent 8 years at Deloitte in South Africa and USA, after which she became Financial Manager at a property brokerage and financing company. In 2011, she relocated to the Netherlands and took a career break to focus on family life before joining Atterbury in 2019.

Hans-Peter Fechter
He joined Atterbury Europe in Cyprus, initially working in asset management and gaining experience in the operational and commercial aspects of retail property.
He subsequently moved into corporate finance and currently serves as Manager: Corporate Finance at Atterbury Europe, where he focuses on acquisitions, disposals and the evaluation of new investment opportunities.

Malose Kekana
Malose is a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand with a BCom in Finance. Malose was the lead promoter during the acquisition of 24% shareholding in the Group by Belelani Capital and subsequently assumed the Group CEO position in the company. He has over 25 years’ experience in the finance and banking industry. He started his banking career with Standard Bank. He thereafter joined RMB, working in Risk Control, Corporate Finance and spent most of his career as a member of RMB Ventures, the private equity division. Malose was the founding CEO of the Umsobomvu Youth Fund, a Development Funding Institution, which was subsequently incorporated into the National Youth Development Agency. This entity was responsible for investing over R2 billion in youth skills and SMME development initiatives. He is currently serving as chairman of Ithala SOC Limited, the KZN provincial banking institution. He was appointed to the Group Board in 2019.

Mashilo Pitjeng
Mashilo Pitjeng is currently the MD of TseboREAL Asset Management, a division of BLK Asset Solutions. He currently serves as the chairman of Social, Ethics and Sustainability Committee and the Capital and Investment Committee and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee at Pareto limited. He is an Executive Chairperson for the Institute of Construction and Real Estate Knowledge NPC. Prior to his appointment at TseboREAL, Mashilo was the Head of Valuations at ABSA-Barclays Africa, where he was involved in the formulations of policies and procedures for property assessments, design and develop quality control tools. Joining Absa Bank, he was Executive Manager for Asset Management and Acting-Managing Director at the City of Joburg Property Company. Mr Pitjeng is also the founder of Imovative Real Estate, an independent real estate advisor, consulting and research.
