The first mixed-use project in the west of Romania was awarded by the Forbes Romania business magazine for the second consecutive year. Openville, the ensemble integrating the current lulius Mall Timisoara, is set to become the primary business, shopping and leisure attraction in the region.

Openville Timisoara was awarded the “Largest Office Building” prize in the Best Office Buildings 2019 Forbes Gala, organized in Bucharest on February 28th. The annual event is dedicated to the most relevant companies on the Romanian office market.

The prize was awarded to United Business Center o {UBC o), which is set to become the tallest office building in Romania (155 meters and 27 floors). UBC o is under construction and will become a national landmark, being one of the most highly anticipated buildings in the mixed-use development. The works started in April 2018 and entail the fitting-out of office premises upwards of 52 000 sqm.

UBC o will be a genuine vertical mixed-use project that will include stores, cafes and restaurants at the ground floor and seven event halls dedicated to the corporate segment at the first floor. The office spaces on each floor will span on minimum 2 000 sqm, being flexible, without interior columns, provided with high levels of natural lighting and allowing for partitioning that is adapted to the clients’ requirements.

UBC o will provide a spectacular panoramic view overlooking the city from every angle by virtue of its full glass fac;ade. Concurrently, the people working in the building will have direct access to the stores and services in lulius Mall Timisoara and in the new retail areas, as well as to the relaxation spaces to be created in the upcoming park of the urban development.

The Openville Timisoara mixed-use project adds up to a total investment upwards of €220 million by IULIUS and Atterbury Europe. The first phase of development is currently pending completion and will include: 47 000 sqm of additional retail premises, 50 000 sqm of office premises in operation (UBC 1, UBC 2, UBC 3) and another 52 000 sqm under construction (UBC o), a park, a traffic underpass and 4 068 parking spaces.
