The companies IULIUS and Atterbury Europe earned the award for “Best office development for the BPO/SSC sector in tier 1&2” at the Romanian Outsourcing & Shared Services Awards 2018 gala in Bucharest last week. The award was presented for the two office buildings that were opened last year in the Openville Timişoara mixed-use project: United Business Center 1 and United Business Center 2. The award recognizes the best office development in tier 2&3 that offers healthy, enjoyable and productive places to work.

In 2017, the United Business Center (UBC) brand consolidated its position on the office market in Timişoara by delivering two class A office buildings with a total leasable area of 31,000 sqm. The companies present here include Ness Digital Engineering, Veoneer, ACI Worlwide, Intel, Convergys, Flex România, Azets, and Bitdefender.

The Romanian Outsourcing & Shared Services Awards gala, now in its fourth edition, is organized by Outsourcing Today, the integrated communication platform of the business services sector, and by The Diplomat Bucharest magazine. The event recognizes, rewards, and celebrates the success of the most prominent companies in the outsourcing (BPO, ITO and SSC) industry in Romania.

About UBC
The UBC brand is currently implemented in Timișoara, in the Openville project – the largest business, retail and entertainment center in the west of Romania. The first phase of development of the project is scheduled to open in Q4/2018 and will include the following: 50,000 sqm of office premises in operation and another 52,000 sqm under construction, 47,000 sqm of additional retail premises, a park, a traffic underpass and more than 1,500 new parking spaces.

After the two office buildings completed in 2017, works are currently underway in Openville for two more buildings. UBC 3 comprises a 19,000 sqm leasable area and will be completed this year. UBC 0 will add up to 52,000 sqm of office premises and will be the tallest office building in Romania (155 meters, 27 floors). The works started in April 2018 and the completion is estimated for the last quarter of next year.

The IULIUS Company owns ten operational office buildings nationwide, developed in mixed-use projects, with a total area upwards of 121,000 sqm: six located in Palas Iaşi (70,000 sqm), two located in the vicinity of Iulius Mall Cluj (18,000 sqm), and two in the Openville Timişoara mixed-use project (31,000 sqm).
