As the summer holidays stretch into their second act, the four IULIUS shopping destinations co-owned by Atterbury Europe are capitalising on early-season momentum. Their June programmes may have been packed, but July and August promise fresh waves of colour, culture and community-building that keep visitors coming back for “one more weekend”.
Mid-summer here feels less like a marathon than a well-timed relay: as soon as one weekend’s curtain falls in Iași, the spotlight swivels to Cluj, Suceava or Timișoara, so that every week still delivers at least one headline draw.
Courtside energy in Iași
From 19–21 July the BCR Sport Arena Streetball circuit parks three pop-up courts outside Iulius Mall Iași, layering console-game zones, skills challenges and live DJs onto a national 3×3 tournament that welcomes all age groups. Shoppers can still chase up-to-70 % savings inside, thanks to the month-long Summer Sale that splashes “IULIUS 25” anniversary branding across 200 stores.
Festival fever on Cluj’s lakeside lawns
Early July, Iulius Parc glowed saffron and magenta for Namaste India (5–6 July), a two-day immersion featuring sari parades, yoga, henna, and classical dance, co-hosted with the Indian Embassy. Every Thursday, the same amphitheatre becomes a puppet-theatre playground for Kids Thursdays, while Friday Movie Nights turn the lawn into an outdoor cinema—both series continuing until the end of the month. Between 8 and 19 July, Electric Castle festival-goers collect wristbands and board shuttle buses directly from the mall, then exchange them for exclusive “EC Offers” in participating stores. August repeats the same formula for UNTOLD, maintaining the festival atmosphere and footfall.

Northern thrills in newly expanded Suceava
Iulius Mall Suceava’s €40 million extension is still sparkling, and management is filling the new event plaza with reasons to linger. The “Reducerile care-ți schimbă vara” Summer Sale runs 1 July – 31 August, including two family magnets: the “Deep in the Forest” music-festival satellite (11–12 July) and a salsa-led community dance night (20 July). From 19 July to 24 August the car park morphs into a Jurassic playground, where 40 animatronic dinosaurs and sea monsters breathe, blink and bellow for selfie-hunters of all ages.
Open-air culture in Timișoara
Western Romania sustains its European Capital of Culture afterglow with a catwalk and a starry screen. Gala Absolvenților MDVTM transformed the Piazza into a graduate-fashion runway on 2 July; from that week onwards, Flight Cinema in My Town shows free films every Friday to Sunday until early September, complete with beanbags and food-truck lanes. On 26 July, the lawns become an oversized chessboard for “Copii joacă șah”, inviting young strategists and cheering parents to trade phones for pawns for an afternoon.

Shop, save, repeat
Network-wide Summer Sales power a traditional mid-year traffic spike, but 2025’s twist is digital: Iași’s “Summer Stories” weekends, Cluj’s festival-linked bonus points and Timisoara’s Fidelity double-stamp campaign all reward app users first, nudging occasional visitors into returning fans.
Before the leaves turn…
With calendars updating almost daily, the best way to keep pace is via each mall’s social channels. Whether you’re hunting discounts, dinosaurs or DJs, Romania’s IULIUS malls have weeks of warm-weather magic waiting. See you courtside, under fairy lights or on a picnic chair by the big screen
